The coral's structure is composed of a hard, calcareous skeleton with a rugged surface texture, featuring numerous small, irregularly shaped corallites that house individual polyps. These polyps are typically extended during the night, showcasing their vibrant colors, which can range from green to brown, often with contrasting white or pale edges. Sexual dimorphism is not pronounced in this species; however, the polyps can exhibit variability in size and coloration based on environmental factors. Behavior & temperament
