GloFish Barb Care Guide
Puntigrus tetrazona var. GloFish · Freshwater Fish

What GloFish Barb look like
GloFish Barbs are fluorescent domestic forms of the tiger barb. They retain the robust Puntigrus body shape, active swimming style, and underlying vertical-bar patterning.
Behavior & temperament
Tiger barb behavior still applies. Keep a group of at least eight to spread aggression and reduce fin-nipping. Avoid slow long-finned tank mates, and provide open swimming room with plants or hardscape at the edges.
Diet & feeding
GloFish Barbs are omnivores. Feed quality flakes or small pellets, daphnia, brine shrimp, bloodworms, mosquito larvae, and vegetable or spirulina foods.
Behind the name
Tetrazona means four-banded, referring to the wild tiger barb pattern.
