King / Giant Betta Care Guide
Betta splendens var. Giant · Freshwater Fish

What King / Giant Betta look like
King or Giant Bettas are domestic Betta splendens lines selected for larger adult body size. They may appear in many colors and fin types, but the body is heavier and longer than a standard domestic betta.
Behavior & temperament
They require the same territorial management as domestic bettas but benefit from more space and stable filtration because of their size. Keep males singly, provide warm water and surface access, and avoid fin nippers.
Diet & feeding
King or Giant Bettas are carnivorous and need slightly larger portions than standard bettas: quality betta pellets, daphnia, brine shrimp, mosquito larvae, bloodworms, and insect-based foods. Avoid overfeeding despite their size.
Behind the name
King and Giant are trade names for larger domestic Betta splendens lines.
