Lyretail Molly Care Guide
Poecilia sphenops hybrid var. Lyretail · Freshwater Fish

What Lyretail Molly look like
The Lyretail Molly is a domestic molly fin morph with extended upper and lower caudal rays. It may occur across several molly color strains and mixed domestic lines. The body remains a Poecilia molly body, not a swordtail or guppy.
Behavior & temperament
Lyretail Mollies are peaceful but need calm tank mates because the tail extensions are vulnerable to nipping. Provide hard alkaline water, vegetable-rich food, good filtration, and moderate flow. They are livebearers and breed readily when both sexes are present.
Diet & feeding
Lyretail Mollies are omnivorous grazers. Feed spirulina flakes, algae wafers, livebearer pellets, blanched greens, daphnia, brine shrimp, and occasional bloodworms. Clean water is important for the extended tail rays.
Behind the name
Lyretail describes the tail outline, which resembles a lyre instrument.
