Oranda Goldfish Care Guide
Carassius auratus var. Oranda · Freshwater Fish

What Oranda Goldfish look like
Orandas are round-bodied fancy goldfish known for a fleshy wen on the head. They have normal eyes, an upright dorsal fin, and a paired double tail. Red Cap Orandas have a white body with a red head cap.
Behavior & temperament
Orandas are peaceful social fancies but are slower and more delicate than long-bodied goldfish. Keep with other fancy goldfish in smooth, well-filtered aquariums and avoid sharp decor that can damage the wen.
Diet & feeding
Oranda Goldfish are omnivores that should receive sinking goldfish pellets or gel food, vegetable matter, daphnia, brine shrimp, and occasional bloodworms. Keep portions moderate and water quality high because wen tissue can trap debris.
Behind the name
Oranda is a historical trade name for this wen-bearing fancy goldfish variety.
