Comet Goldfish Care Guide
Carassius auratus var. Comet · Freshwater Fish

What Comet Goldfish look like
Comet Goldfish are long-bodied goldfish selected for speed and a long deeply forked caudal fin. They are streamlined, single-tailed, and best considered pond or very large aquarium fish.
Behavior & temperament
Comets are active, fast, social fish that outcompete delicate fancy goldfish. They need strong filtration, open swimming room, and cool stable water. They are egg scatterers.
Diet & feeding
Comet Goldfish are omnivorous grazers. Feed quality goldfish pellets or gel food, blanched greens, duckweed, daphnia, brine shrimp, and occasional bloodworms. Feed modestly enough that water quality stays stable.
Behind the name
Comet refers to the long flowing tail trailing behind the fish.
