Ranchu Goldfish Care Guide
Carassius auratus var. Ranchu · Freshwater Fish

What Ranchu Goldfish look like
Ranchu are dorsal-less fancy goldfish with a rounded body, arched back, tucked tail, and head growth. The back line is smoother and more arched than a Lionhead.
Behavior & temperament
Ranchu are slow, delicate fancy goldfish. They need smooth decor, gentle flow, excellent water quality, and similarly slow fancy tank mates. They should not compete with long-bodied goldfish.
Diet & feeding
Ranchu Goldfish are omnivores that do best on sinking goldfish pellets or gel food, blanched greens, daphnia, brine shrimp, and occasional bloodworms. Avoid overfeeding and maintain strong filtration.
Behind the name
Ranchu is the Japanese name for this dorsal-less fancy goldfish variety.
